Qin Ga, the Long March

Now it became artist Qin Ga's turn to travel the Long March route, starting from Luding Bridge, Sichuan Province, crossing over the snowy mountains and swampy grasslands, marching towards Yan'an. Accompanying him were Gao Feng, Gao Xiang, Li Ding, and Mei Er (a tattoo artist and three cameramen). They were to help record and tattoo onto Qin Ga's back the remaining sites left unvisited by the Long March team.

New Geographies Exhibition-Monica de Miranda

MONICA DE MIRANDA
http://www.monicademiranda.com/
Rooted in cross-cultural fertilisations, New Geographies pushes the boundaries of the conventional notions of place and nation. A solo exhibition reflecting on how globalisation is profoundly transforming our apprehension of the world, provoking new senses of identity and the creation of new territories. New Geographies explores the subsequent erosion of national identities and the advent of a new cosmopolitanism, embodied by the juxtaposition of a rich mix of communities in a contemporary urban metropolis, such as London.

Opening at 198 Gallery, 198 Railton Road, Herne Hill, Lambeth, London, SE24 0LU
Dates: March 29 to May 11, 2007
